SOME REFLECTIONS ON WRITTEN ERRORS MADE BY ARABIC LEARNERS OF ENGLISH

English Second Language (ESL) learners naturally make mistakes or errors in second language acquisition. This is also the case with Arabic of English. The authors this paper present their preliminary observations made by students based on 25 years teaching experience Middle East. They differentiated according to lexical-semantic-morphological, syntactic, mechanical, and ambiguous categories. In addition, they looked at interlingual causes --- direct transfer from mother tongue (i.e., L1 L2) intralingual fact that do not know linguistic rules L2. examples observed researchers helped determine most frequent categories give practical solutions teachers prevent such happening future. study does focus specific assignments but general over correspondence.
